What is NIFAB?
NIFAB is a public information center for alternative treatment. We are affiliated with NAFKAM (National Research Center in Complementary and Alternative Medicine) at the University of Tromso, Norway. NIFAB is owned and fully financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services.
We can help you
- By providing quality-assured research- and experience-based information about alternative treatment.
- By serving as a discussion partner regarding questions about alternative treatment.
- By providing contact with other resources in Norway and abroad.
- The information provided at www.nifab.no is meant to support, not replace, the relationship between the patient/consumer and his or her health-care provider.
Our goals

- To provide health-care professionals with easy access to information about alternative treatment.
Our tasks
We focus on the following areas:
- Describing the landscape of alternative treatment.
- Presenting different forms of alternative treatments.
- Disseminating Norwegian legislation about the field.
- Making available research- and experience-based information.
- Providing a patient/consumer guide.
We publish:
- Our own news articles.
- Articles from invited resource persons.
- News from other media (via newsfeed).
